Dr. Johnson, a proud Chicago native (Go Bears!), was drawn to the West for college by the allure of mountains the Midwest couldn’t offer. To fund his growing collection of backpacking gear and his topless gold Jeep Wrangler, he worked at a veterinary hospital, where he discovered his calling in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Johnson’s veterinary training took him all over the country, but the call of the Sierras eventually drew him back west to the Bay Area.
Dr. Johnson has been serving the East Bay as a veterinary neurologist since 2019, caring for cats and dogs with a wide variety of neurological conditions. Driven by a vision to elevate pet care to a Mayo Clinic-level experience, Dr. Johnson founded Neuro Vet with Dr. Fitz. Together, they aim to create Northern California’s leading center for veterinary neurology, blending cutting-edge medicine with compassionate service.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Johnson enjoys exploring U.S. national parks, sipping overpriced artisanal coffee, attending live acoustic folk concerts, and humbly serving his three flawless feline overlords: Ace, Gary, and Newman.
